Group Description
The Korean Club is a dynamic online academic community for students aged 12–18 who are eager to learn the Korean language and explore the vibrant culture of Korea. Whether you’re inspired by K-pop, Korean dramas, traditional customs, or want to speak and write Hangul, this club offers an inclusive, fun, and educational environment for all levels.
What We Do:
- Weekly sessions on Korean conversation, Hangul writing, basic grammar, and pronunciation
- Interactive games, K-drama scene reenactments, and vocabulary challenges
- Deep dives into Korean holidays, food (like tteokbokki & kimchi), etiquette, and history
- Special events like K-pop dance tutorials, music discussions, and fan art sessions
- Guest speakers including native Korean speakers and cultural experts
- Collaborative projects like digital scrapbooks, Korean recipe sharing, or mini presentations
- Virtual field trips to Korean palaces, markets, and famous cultural sites
Club Rules and Guidelines:
- Eligibility: Open to students aged 12–18 at any proficiency level.
- Participation: Attend at least two meetings monthly and participate actively.
- Respect: Be kind and supportive to fellow learners—no judgment allowed.
- Language Use: Try using Korean during greetings and short conversations.
- Preparation: Complete light assignments such as vocabulary review or video watching before club sessions.
- Creativity: Express yourself through music, art, storytelling, or Korean-inspired designs.
- Netiquette: Arrive on time, keep distractions to a minimum, and use respectful language online.
- Cultural Sensitivity: Show respect for Korean traditions, values, and diverse perspectives.
- Teamwork: Collaborate respectfully during projects and support peers’ progress.
- Conduct: Repeated rule violations may lead to removal from the club after a warning.
