        Ethics & Tech Club

Tina changed the description of the group Group logo of Ethics & Tech ClubEthics & Tech Club from “The Ethics & Tech Club is an online community for students aged 13–18 who are interested in exploring the ethical implications of emerging technologies. This club provides a platform to discuss, analyze, and debate the societal impact of innovations in artificial intelligence, data privacy, automation, biotechnology, and other technological advancements. Through thoughtful dialogue, members will learn to critically assess both the potential benefits and risks of technology, all while cultivating a strong sense of responsibility as future innovators.
        What We Do:

Weekly discussions on current technological trends and their ethical dilemmas, such as AI decision-making, privacy issues, and the digital divide

Debates on real-world case studies, exploring the consequences of technological advancements and policy decisions

Guest speakers from the fields of technology, law, and ethics, offering professional insights into the intersection of innovation and responsibility

Collaborative group projects focusing on creating ethical guidelines for specific technologies or developing solutions to ethical issues in tech

Workshops on understanding key ethical theories and frameworks, such as utilitarianism, deontology, and virtue ethics, in the context of modern technology

Opportunities to present your own ethical analysis of new tech developments, such as blockchain or genetic engineering, to the group for feedback

Exploration of emerging fields such as data science ethics, machine learning fairness, and bioethics

        Club Rules and Guidelines:

Eligibility: Open to students aged 13–18 who are interested in technology and ethics, regardless of prior knowledge.

Respect: Foster an open, respectful environment where everyone’s ideas are valued. Approach sensitive topics with care and empathy.

Participation: Attend at least two sessions per month and actively engage in discussions, debates, and group projects.

Critical Thinking: Encourage thoughtful analysis, questioning assumptions, and exploring multiple perspectives on ethical issues in technology.

Collaboration: Work together on projects, combining diverse viewpoints to create comprehensive, well-rounded solutions.

Learning Mindset: Embrace the process of learning, recognizing that exploring ethics often involves grappling with difficult, nuanced questions.

Confidentiality: Respect confidentiality and privacy in all discussions, particularly when discussing case studies or personal opinions.

Deadlines: Submit work for group projects or presentations on time to ensure effective collaboration.
